Water Efficiency

During the past two decades we have been steadily increasing the amount of water we use in the home. On average in the UK we each use 150 litres of water every day. If this usage continues to rise as the population continues to grow, especially in the South East of England, we are likely to suffer shortages.

Tendring Hundred Water is committed to water efficiency. We have a number of key initiatives to promote the efficient use of water and believe that responsibility should sit with us and our customers.

Our track record is good:

• We have the lowest leakage in the industry

• Around 70% of our customers are metered

• Our customers on average consume the least amount of water in the country (on average around 120 litres of water every day)

We have recently appointed a Water Efficiency technician to champion water efficiency at Tendring. He will visit homes and businesses to give practical advice on being water efficient.
