How to read your water
meter
The black figures
are read for charging purposes and record your
consumption in cubic metres. One cubic metre is
equivalent to 1,000 litres. The meter installed
will have numbers on a dial similar to one of
the examples below:
|
 |
| |
 |
= 234m cubed
|
| or |
 |
= 234m cubed
|
| or |
 |
= 234m cubed

 |
| If your meter has
been fitted in a separate underground chamber outside
your premises it can be looked at by lifting the
cover. Around the edge of the cover there is a slot
in which you can fit a screwdriver to lever open
the cover. Under the cover there is polystyrene
insulation which when removed will reveal the meter
at the bottom of the chamber. |
 |
| You will also find
a stopcock in the meter chamber and this may be
used to shutdown your supply by turning clockwise.
Please do not overtighten the stopcock. |
 |
| When you have read
the meter please ensure that you replace the polystyrene
and refit the lid correctly. Always ensure that
the rim of the cover is clean and the cover is fully
inserted. |

of any domestic premises and charges have not
been demanded from the new occupier
- where any premises are empty awaiting occupation
by a new occupier
