Metered water bills
are issued at six monthly intervals. The top left
hand side of the bill shows your property reference
number, your name and the address of the property
being charged. The charges due are split between
standing charges for water and sewerage based
on the size of meter installed and a variable
charge for the volume of water used.
Your sewerage volume
is normally assessed to be 90% of the water you
use. If you can demonstrate that less than 90% of
your water is returned to Anglian Water's sewers,
please let us know.
The standing charges
are levied for six monthly periods, generally in
advance, whilst your volume related charges are
always levied in arrears; again for periods of about
six months. Commercial/industrial customers using
larger quantities of water will be billed on a monthly
basis.
Our charges
Charges are set and regulated
by the Office of Water Services (OFWAT).

Options for paying your
water bill
You may pay your
six monthly account in full or spread the cost by
using the Company's monthly budget payment scheme,
or pay in fortnightly or weekly instalments.
Many people find it more convenient
to pay by bank direct debit. If you do not have a bank
account, or suitable building society account, and you
still wish to pay by instalments please contact us and
we will send you a set of payment slips.
If you paid your bill by instalments last year, using
direct debit or instalment slips, we have assumed you
wish this arrangement to continue. Please let us know
if this is not the case. Failure to pay instalments on
their due dates may result in the arrangement being cancelled
and the full outstanding balance becoming due immediately.
Please call us to discuss any payment difficulties
at the earliest opportunity.
